A visit here should include the world-renowned Thai Village Cultural

cross section of Thailand’s culture, heritage and way of life: dances,
ceremonies, rituals, sports and pastimes. From Thai boxing and sword
fighting to the rich pageantry of Buat Naag -- a ceremony of ordination
into the Buddhist monk-hood, to lively tribal and traditional dances from
all regions of Thailand, this is a memorable show that gives visitors a
Thai feast for the senses. (Rose Garden Riverside Km 32 Petchkasem

The fast pace of Bangkok can easily be overwhelming and a day trip to the beach may be
the best way out for those who only have 72 hours in the country; Pattaya is merely 2 hours
away and can be reached easily from Bangkok by several modes of transportation.
Pattaya instantly became famous during the Vietnam War when American GIs used to flock
here for R&R to take a break from their duties. There are several beaches in the Pattaya area;
the most calm and clean is probably Jomtien beach, where familes can enjoy soft sand and
warm waters. A large number of water sports are also available ranging from jet-skiing to
parasailing.
The nightlife in Pattaya is world famous as there are literally hundreds of bars and nightclubs
to choose from. The town is also well known for two world famous transvestite shows, known
as Alcazar and Tiffany. These elaborate performances have been drawing curious crowds
from all over the world for many decades. |
