Eastern Region

The beautiful beaches and islands of Thailand’s eastern region is only two to four hours drive from Bangkok. Besides its tropical fruit orchards and its world famous resort town of Pattaya, this region also houses major industrial complexes. Its natural setting, high level of development and good weather make this region a natural hub of golf courses second only to Bangkok.

Description & Signature hole: Course A, Hole 8. Here
is a classic dogleg par 4 offering a wide fairway as a target,
closing to a bottleneck at the critical range, thus offering
the long hitters a temptation to take on the bunkers.
The narrow stream crossing before the green adds an
extra feature, while the green is bunkered in the classical
manner. Small bunkers light against the putting. This
should be a popular sporting hole.
Khao Kheow Country Club
(27 Holes Par 72/36, 7,077 yards)
The 27-hole championship course offers challenges for golf
enthusiasts of every level including top professionals. And
while offering exciting golf, these courses also provide the
most spectacular and serene mountain vistas and climate.
The courses play quite long and the elevation changes

Description & Signature hole: The first 18 have been
designed as a championship course, while the final 9 holes
are easier, more like a resort course. Playing all 27 holes is
a good option for those who would like to enjoy the variety
of holes, elevations, and settings.
Laem Chabang International Country Club
(27 Holes Par 72, 7,065 yards)
Laem Chabang Internat ional Country Club has the best
layout in Pattaya and is one Thailand’s finest. Laem
Chabang is made up of 27 holes on 700 acres and makes
use of 3 types of features which characterize each of the
9 holes. This handiwork is widely hailed by critics for the
unique usage of the land’s mixed terrain of mountains,
lakes and river valleys which are lovely as well as functional.
Each type of terrain corresponds to a 9-hole course in a
unique way, and as such each one is named Mountain,
Lake and Valley.

Description & Signature hole: The Mountain 9 is 3446
yards and plays around many hills. The opening hole
requires you to squeeze the ball through a lush “canyon”
of vegetation, but there is more space out there than
you at first think. The second, a wonderfully waterfronted
downhill Par 3, is just about as good as short holes get.
From there on, you will be challenged by the course’s
natural undulations, occasional water hazards and excellent
sprawling bunkers that protect the front and sides of many
nicely elevated greens.

The Lake 9 is 3419 yards with a stream meandering
through most of the holes. The Valley 9 plays the longest
at 3619 yards, and is shaped in the foothills of the
surrounding mountains. Although the presence of water
is not overwhelming, (apart perhaps from on the opening
four holes of the more technical Valley 9), when it does
occur, it does so with full force and knee-trembling impact.
Pattana Golf and Sports Resort
(27 Holes Par 72, 7,300 yards)
Pattana Golf and Sports Resort is a 27-hole layout consisting
of three 9-hole courses exotically named Andreae, Brookei,
and Calypso. Golfers will enjoy the feeling of being close to
nature in this lush and well maintained course.

the fairway and green stretch into the reservoir.
Pattaya Country Club & Resort
(18 Holes Par 72, 2,700 yards)

like land amist gentle rolling hills and is one of the closest
courses to Pattaya. The golf course is relatively easy and
good for golfers of all abilities. Several holes feature dual
fairways making for more challenging as well as for safer
routes to the greens. The greens are usually well guarded
by bunkers and many are quite undulating.

the course and make for some dramatic finishes and
surprising scores for those counting too early on a good
a round.
Phoenix Golf & Country Club
(27 Holes Par 72/36, 6,812 yards)
The course is set on wooded, rolling terrain. This course
comprises three nines - Ocean, Lake and Mountain, and
has magnificent views of the surrounding mountains and
the Gulf of Thailand. Large mango and eucalyptus trees
and flowering shrubs add color and give a natural feel to
the layout.

Description & Signature hole: Hole 17 is a very though
Par 4 dogleg around lake and requires accurate shot making
to achieve par.

The finishing hole on the Ocean course is also noteworthy.
The tee box for this Par 5 sits at the highest point on the
course and affords a commanding view of Jomtien Beach
and Pattaya city.
Siam Country Club Pattaya Old Course
(18 Holes Par 72, 2,700 yards)
The Old Course at Siam Country Club is set in the low hills
just a few kilometers from Pattaya and contains more than
its fair share of mature trees, shrubs and plants. Various
fruit trees on the course give one the impression of being
in an orchard, especially when in season. The abundant
“wildlife” in the form of sculptured bushes and hedges are
a feature unique to Siam Country Club.

Description & Signature hole: The 13th 384 yards Par 4
is relatively straightforward if you hit the right shots.
A good drive from an elevated tee out on the perimeter
of the course to a generous fairway will seem to fly forever,
leaving a short or mid iron for the approach shot.

The green is protected by bunkers and a large lake running
down most of the left side and round the back of the
putting surface, so err on the short side if at all. Realistically,
the lake is not in play from the tee, but it does prey on
the mind for the second shot, particularly those fighting a serial hook.
Siam Country Club Pattaya Plantation
(27 Holes Par 72, 7,404 and 7,495 yards)
The Siam Country Club Pattaya Plantation is simply an
amazing golf course, as plays as difficult as any in Thailand.
Nothing was spared by designer Lee Schmidt. The
Plantation Course also features significant elevation changes
that result in several breathtaking views of the beaches of
Pattaya and the Gulf of Thailand approximately seven miles
away.

Description & Signature hole:Two nines, the Par 36,
3,759-yard Tapioca and Par 36, 3,645-yard Pineapple,
feature Asia’s first triple green. The Tapioca’s 7th hole and
the Pineapple’s 4th and 9th holes play to a single green
measuring more than 20,000 square feet (1,916 square
meters) and is a unique focal point on this Pattaya golf
course. The green’s meandering putting surface is
contiguous and is divided into three distinct sections by
large swales. Number 7 on the Tapioca is a Par 3 of 178
yards, while numbers 4 and 9 on the Pineapple are lengthy
Par 4s of 490 and 469 yards, respectively.
