Private Collection |
![]() |
||
It’s not surprising if you confuse Private Collection for a museum. Housed in an august 100-year old building, it stands apart for its impressive collection of wares from Kashmir, including hand-knotted rugs, aromatic sandalwood carvings, paper-mache items, and luxurious pashmina wraps. In one corner sits a genuine Persian rug weaving machine seemingly frozen in the middle of fabrication, silently illuminating the painstaking process to make these beautiful floor coverings, some of which require more than 1000 knots per square inch. It is definitely worth a visit for seekers of woven heirlooms for one’s own private collection. 265 Yaowaraj Road, |
