This modest little family-run shop along Phuket City’s historic Yaowarat Rd. is simply one of the best shops to find woven and raw silk, cotton textiles, and sarongs in Phuket. It’s not surprising if you confuse Private Collection for a museum. Housed in an august 100-year old building, it stands apart for its impressive collection of wares from Kashmir, including hand-knotted rugs, aromatic sandalwood carvings, paper-mache items, and luxurious pashmina wraps.
