For those who love kart racing, or just looking for different recreational activities outside the beaches, you can enjoy an experience at Patong Go-kart Speedway. Established in 1991 as the first gokart track in Phuket, it is still the number one track on the island. The track, with a concept of being professional, was built to include an expanded stretched racing track of 750 meters with exciting challenges and flood lightning for evening races. The Go-Kart Speedway is open every day from 10.00 hrs. to 19.00 hrs. The facility also has a 30 seat restaurant and plenty of parking space.

Located next to the Go-Kart Speedway is a 600-meter offroad track, “Phuket Offroad Funpark” (affiliated with the Go-Kart Speedway) that can be raced in custom-built 300cc buggies. With rollover bars, disc brakes and full harness safety belts, it can be enjoyed by both young and adult drivers. The track has a lot of interesting features including a water splash, bridges and long straight stretches with humps and boulders. Phuket Offroad Fun Park is open from 10.00 hrs. till late.

Many say this is the ultimate adrenaline rush. It’s often compared to a speeding rally car fishtailing and spinning along its course, but on water rather than a dirt track. Never before has Phuket seen anything like this Australian-born extreme adventure racing up to 70 km/ hr. The boats take off every 30 minutes from the south end of Patong Beach. The cost of a ticket is 1,200 baht for 30 minutes. There is also an exciting sunset ride between Chalong and Promthep Cape, which takes about an hour and costs 1,800 baht.

Open just over a year, Red Mountain, Loch Palm’s sister course, takes its name from the terrain where it has risen. Red mountains spring up throughout the course surrounded by thick tropical jungle. On property that was a former tin mining complex, the undulating fairways and greens demonstrate just how well land can be rejuvenated and transformed into a second natural treasure.
